King-Chavez Community Academy, Serving Grades TK-8 (Beginning 2025-2026)
Starting in the 2025-26 school year, King-Chavez Primary, Arts & Athletics, and Preparatory Academies will combine to form a united campus. Thanks to community input, we are excited to share that we have an official new name for our Blue School campus – King-Chavez Community Academy, serving grades TK-8! A TK-8 campus will create a more cohesive learning environment for our students, while also providing families who have multiple KC students the convenience of a single enrollment and pick-up/drop off location.
We're thrilled that Gerry Guevara will be Principal for the combined schools! Beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, Mr. Guevara will enter his 20th year of service to King-Chavez Neighborhood of Schools and 13th year as Principal at the Blue School. Mr. Guevara started out as a Reading Intervention Aide and continuously grew his skillset as an educator and leader, later serving the KCNS family as a Parent Liaison, School Counselor, and Vice Principal. Since joining the King-Chavez family, Mr. Guevara has served as both an inspiration and integral role in the success of our students, families, and community. He works hand in hand with teachers and support staff, provides vision and leadership, advocates for students and families, and embodies the King-Chavez mission by always serving from a foundation of love.
We are excited about the many benefits this will bring for our students and families, including:
