Teacher Preparation Programs

At King-Chavez we recognize the time, energy, and commitment required to obtain and clear a CA Teaching Credential and offer two credentialing programs along with individualized support at every step of the way.

The King-Chavez Teacher Intern Program (KCTIP) provides an alternate route to earning a Preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential while teaching. This two-year program combines coursework, fieldwork, job-embedded learning with strong mentorship, and professional development.

The King-Chavez Online Teacher Induction Program is designed for teachers who already hold a preliminary credential and are ready to clear it. This flexible, two-year program offers individualized mentoring, ongoing professional learning, and job-embedded support. It is accredited by the State of California to clear Single Subject, Multiple Subject, and Education Specialist credentials.

Both programs are designed to support educators from their first year in the classroom through the next step in their professional journey.
