Suicide Prevention
At King-Chavez, we care deeply about the health of every student, and that includes their mental health and well-being. Every teacher and administrator receives training from mental health practitioners at the school site and through our partnership with the Niroga Institute. Mindfulness instruction and practice is embedded into every school day to ensure that our students have the knowledge and tools to develop and sustain healthy mental practices. Our school counselors and team members build upon our foundation of love and work tirelessly to lift up our students. Our doors and arms are always open.
In addition to on-site support, organizations across the United States dedicate their work to advancing suicide prevention and improving crisis services. The 988 Lifeline is a network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. Text or call 988 anytime, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
